St. Luke’s Youth Group
Last Updated 9-14-17
Welcome to St. Luke Youth Group! Our mission is to aid in the formation of lifelong Catholics by providing a solid foundation in the Church’s teachings so teens can actively live their faith through the sacraments and contributions to our faith community.
Edge is our Middle School (6th-7th grades) program and Life Teen is our Confirmation and High School (8th-12th grades) program. We meet every Sunday night from 6:30-8:00 PM in the social hall during the school year.
In addition to our Sunday nights, we offer a variety of spiritual events for enhancing their faith formation, social events for forging Catholic friendships, and service events for embodying the Gospel.
Friends of all faiths are welcome and encouraged to join us for Edge and Life Nights every Sunday from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm. They are also invited to attend any of our Youth Group functions. Please complete all permission forms (found below) prior to off-site events.
Click on the links throughout this page for complete information and forms for all upcoming Youth Group events.
Pictures from our youth events are found at the bottom of the page.
Kroger Plus Card Users
Hopefully, you have registered your Kroger Plus card with St. Luke online at krogercommunityrewards.com! Our NPO number is 30241. Once you have set up an account, when the statement comes in we need for everyone to check their accounts and get the amounts to Chris Crafton. Once the new statement comes out the amount for the previous quarter is gone and there is no way to retrieve it. Please take a screen shot of your current amount and email it to Chris at email@example.com. The new quarterly amounts have come out so please do this asap! Money will not be credited to your personal account if you do not send her this info. The money will still go into the general youth fund regardless.
*Our supporters (28 households) who shopped at Kroger between 3-1-2017 and 5-31-2017 (Cycle 2016, Qtr 3) have contributed $318.42 to our youth program.
Edge and Life Nights: Sunday Nights

Monthly Youth Adoration and Confession: Sunday, September 17, 2017
Father Jacob is very passionate about our young church, so he is very excited to offer monthly youth Adoration and Confession nights again this year. Please come as a family at 6:00 PM once a month to pray together and take advantage of the beautiful sacrament of Reconciliation. There are a few months that will just be Adoration because confession will be offered another time during that month. The dates are: Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 18, and Dec. 3.
Edge and Life Teen Parent Meeting: Sunday, September 17, 2017
Parents are strongly encouraged to attend an informational meeting Sunday, September 17th at 6:00 PM in the church to learn about our Sunday night youth programs. We will begin with 30 minutes of Adoration and Confession with the teens. At 6:30 PM, I will explain Edge and Life Teen, the Confirmation process, and present the Spiritual and Social events planned for the year. Teens will attend their regular Edge and Life Nights during the meeting.
Safe Haven Homeless Shelter Service Opportunity: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Our youth group has the opportunity to help the homeless families of our community on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Safe Haven is the only shelter-to-housing program of its kind in Middle Tennessee that accepts the entire family. They keep the family together and provide comprehensive services that empower them to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. Safe Haven helps families experiencing homelessness by providing for their immediate needs of shelter and stability.
We need volunteers for the following: six youth help prepare/serve the meal, one parent to help with preparing the meal and drive to Safe Haven, as well as one parent to grocery shop and clean up. We will meet at St. Luke’s on September 30th at 3:30pm. At that time, we will prepare a meal for the 12 adults and twenty children currently residing at Safe Haven. Then we will carpool to Safe Haven and serve the meal to the families. After sharing a meal with them, the youth will have a chance to talk with the families and tour the facility to learn how Safe Haven helps families get back on their feet. Our tentative arrival time back at St. Luke’s at 7:00 pm.
The first six youth that turn the Safe Haven Commitment Form sent home Sept. 10th in by September 18th will participate in this service opportunity.
